Terms and Conditions for Give Hope Fund Scholarship Recipients

The Give Hope Fund provides scholarships to support students pursuing undergraduate, graduate/professional, and vocational programs in Florida.
All awards are governed by the following terms and conditions.
By accepting a scholarship, each recipient agrees to comply with the policies outlined below.

Award Duration & Renewal Eligibility

1. Award Duration & Renewal Eligibility

One-Year Award
Scholarships are awarded for one academic year only.
Annual Renewal

Students may reapply each year for continued support. Renewal is not automatic and depends on:

  • Maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Completing 20 hours of approved community service through AACC or an approved partner organization.
  • Continuing enrollment in an accredited program.
  • Availability of funds for that year.
  • Submission of a full reapplication (including updated documents).

Returning recipients who remain in good standing may receive priority consideration during selection.

2. Use of Funds

Scholarship funds may be used only for approved educational expenses, including:

  • Tuition and mandatory fees.
  • Required textbooks and course materials.
  • Academic tools or equipment required by the program.
  • Other education-related expenses approved by the Education Committee.

Recipients are responsible for ensuring that funds are used exactly as stated in the scholarship guidelines.

3. Disbursement of Funds

To ensure proper use of scholarship resources, funds are disbursed in one of the following ways:
A. Direct Payment to the School
Payments may be sent directly to the recipient’s college, university, or vocational institution.
B. Reimbursement to the Student

Reimbursement may be provided for eligible expenses only when original itemized receipts are submitted and approved by the Education Committee.

Reimbursements are processed at the discretion of the Committee and must align with documented expenses for the academic period.

4. Required Reporting & Documentation

Recipients may be required to provide:

  • Proof of enrollment.
  • Updated transcripts.
  • Documentation of completed service hours.
  • Receipts for any reimbursed expenses.
  • Any additional documents requested for compliance or auditing purposes.

Failure to provide required documentation may delay or impact the receipt of funds.

5. Student Responsibilities

Scholarship recipients agree to:

  • Maintain good academic standing.
  • Use funds only for approved educational purposes.
  • Communicate promptly if enrollment changes (withdrawal, transfer, leave of absence).
  • Submit all required forms, receipts, and service-hour documentation on time.

Act in a manner consistent with the values of AACC and the Give Hope Fund.

6. Program Integrity & Compliance

The Give Hope Fund operates under strict ethical standards.
Recipients must comply with the Fund’s policies, including:

  • Honest reporting of financial need.
  • Adherence to timelines and deadlines.
  • Accurate and truthful information on all forms.

Any intentional misrepresentation may lead to revocation of the award.

7. Scholarship Termination

A scholarship may be revoked if:

  • GPA falls below the required 3.0.
  • The student withdraws or is no longer enrolled.
  • Service hours are not completed.
  • Funds are misused or documentation is falsified.
  • The student violates AACC’s Code of Conduct or scholarship policies.
  • The Education Committee determines non-compliance with award terms.

Decisions on termination are made by the Education Committee and are final.

8. Legal Notice

  • All awards are subject to Florida law.
  • Award amounts and the number of scholarships offered each year depend on available donations.
  • Scholarship funds may have tax implications depending on how they are used.

Students are encouraged to consult a tax professional for guidance.

9. Communication & Updates

The Education Committee will communicate:

  • Award decisions.
  • Disbursement timelines.
  • Any required documents.
  • Renewal application instructions.

It is the recipient’s responsibility to maintain updated contact information throughout the year.
